 Today I will be talking about the unfortunate circumstance I am in, relating to my project with the bad news I have received. I woke up on Thursday with a fever and went to get Covid tested. My results came in and I tested positive for the virus. This has thrown my complete timeline off and who I will be able to do the project with. I contracted the disease from my friend who I was going to sleep over at for all of spring break. I will no longer be able to use him to film, or his brothers and family to act as the security/military guards for my scene. I will have to probably use my family as it appears that I have spread it to them and we will all have to quarantine for 2 weeks. Filming my scene will also be pushed back and I will have less time to do it. Instead of filming from March 20th-25th, it will have to be in April after I do a mandatory quarantine for 10-14 days which is what the test administers have told my family when they called them to contact trace me. This also means I will have less time to edit and film and everything will have to be completed in less than a week, due to getting COVID 19. Although this is not part of the sample topics, I find it important to put as a blog post because it shows how things can change overnight and that my entire project ( everything) has know completely changed and not for the best. I am still feeling ill and will try my best if everyone in my family stays healthy to film in April.

 On this post, I will be talking about the group meeting I had on Tuesday with other classmates, and their advice to me. I had one person who was in my original group meeting a couple weeks of ago, while the rest were new people, and this helped to get different perspectives and ideas. A tip they gave me was to use music in my piece that does not contain any lyrics. They told me that lyrics might throw off the tone of the scene if I want it to be an action scene. Another piece of advice I got from one of the group members and the teacher when she joined the meeting, was to use a website called Chosic. In this website you put a song that you think would go well with your piece. Instead of having to ask for permission to use that song to the label company and artist, it gives you songs that are very similar to it that do not require one to have to ask for permission. This was very helpful and much needed for my piece as it would have been more complicated having to ask for permission and could have taken a long time if they did not respond to me quickly.

 This is my final blog post for the week of 3/8/21- 3/14/21. On this post I will be talking about the editing software/softwares that I am planning to use. Many different options have been presented to me whether it was by my friends, Aice Media teacher, or by doing research online on the different editing softwares. I will be filming on my Iphone so I have decided to link the camera roll on my Iphone to the camera roll that is on an Ipad that I have in my house to be able to see the videos better and do the editing there. This being said, Apple does contain an editing software app called iMovie. iMovie is a good editing software but for this Project I decided not to use it. I have downloaded WeVideo, Slice, and Adobe Premiere Pro which are all more advanced editing softwares that simply have more features. 

After trying them all and finding out which one I liked the best I decided to use Adobe Premiere Pro. I will be paying for a one month subscription on it which I believe is 4.99$ so I can get the best and most amount of possible features and guidance when completing the editing. I will be doing this the last week of March and in early April as the filming will take place from March 20th all the way to March 25th.

 My piece is in the Action and Adventure genre, so I would like to have a title/name for the movie that goes with this genre and with what my piece is about. As I mentioned previously my piece will contain the main character running through the woods from a government facility where he has stolen information and military officials are after him. I had a hard time choosing titles for my piece. Some of these were, Undetected and Unseen, Escape Plan , and In a Heartbeat. I finally came up with a name that I liked the best and thought suited the piece the well which was Gone in a Flash. It illustrates the protagonist of the movie running through the woods and the security personnel chasing after him not being able to keep up with him and get him. As he runs through the woods he is very fast and fit and has studied that forest to know what the quickest way in and out of it as well as where the security likes to position themselves and the path they are most likely to take. For this reason they do not capture him and he is truly gone in a flash.

 On this post I will be talking about movies that are in the Action and Adventure genre that have been successful and that my scene will be along the lines of these. One such film is the Mission Impossible series. This movie series dates back to the first one coming out in 1996. It stars Tom Cruise who in the movie in known as (Ethan Hunt). He is an IMF (Impossible Mission Force) agent who fights the world's most vicious and dangerous criminal/ criminal organizations. The movies are not drama related or have outstanding dialogue that would consist them to win Oscars. They fit perfectly in the Action and Adventure genre as they create suspense from the beginning of the movie on what will happen and the Fighting/Action that will take place.

The movies are filled with incredible spy stunts, car, motorcycle, and helicopter chases. There is hand to hand combat fighting as well as a lot of gun fire and chases by foot. The movie truly shows what the genre is trying to convey which is Action and the Adventure/plot that takes place to get there. Another great Action and Adventure movie would be Venom. This movie came out in 2018, directed by Ruben Fleischer, starring Tom Hardy as ( Eddie Brock). Eddie is a journalist who loses his job and can be considered by many as a looser. He enters a science facility late at night illegally to get news that might start his career again and gets contaminated by an alien lifeform. The alien and him begin to live with one another and coexist together as the alien is inside of Eddie. The movie is followed by undercover agents breaking into his house trying to get the top secret alien lifeform back to the lab at all costs. It features action packed motorcycle and car chases as well as gunfire and trying to escape the so called bad guys with fighting, knocking or killing them. This movie illustrates Action and Adventure in a less sophisticated and planned way than mission impossible where they organize and plan all of their missions before hand. Another reason I wanted to include this movie is because the idea for my scene came partially from this movie when the facilities alarms go off from where the alien life forms are at and he must escape through the woods. This movie shows a great deal of men chasing after Eddie through the trees as well automobiles, which is similar to what I want my opening scene to look like.

 This is my last post for the week of 3/1/21- 3/7/21. Today I will be talking about my characters background. My character is considered the protagonist or good guy of the piece and is the only character I will be talking about on this post. His name is Edwin Gwincy and was born on May 18th 1989. He is from is from Omaha Nebraska, a state located in the United States and lived most of his life there. He learned how to hunt and live in the wild as this state has many forests and wildlife. His parents both died when he was 20 years old in a fatal car crash. He does not have any siblings. He is not married nor committed to any relationship because the work he does is dangerous and can never fully trust anyone. He also does not want anyone getting to attached to him, or get attached himself to someone because it could put their life in danger. He attended the University of Thunderbird in Arizona and graduated after 4 years. Working for a company as an assistant and not liking at all what he did, he joined the army at 25. He was a marine and later became a green Beret. At 30 he left the army and had nowhere to go. An old friend of his from the University saw him at a bar one night and they began talking. After a few drinks, he told this friend of his living situation and that he could not find a job. His friend proposed to him an idea and Edwin was interested. It would pay 34.3 million between him, his friend and 3 other men they needed for the job. Edwin agreed to join and has been planning this job for almost a year. Now it is time to execute it.

On this post I will talk about the different costumes and tools that will be used in the scene. First, the main character will be wearing black pants with a dark blue shirt to not be able to be spotted easily when he is in the government building or in the woods. He will have black shoes and socks as well, and he may have a mask on top of his head so that the guards can not see his head but that is still to be confirmed so far. This character will be carrying with him a Walkie- Talkie that will serve to communicate with other people. This is important because he can not use his phone or an actual phone because it can be traced by the government and they may be able to intercept the call.

The other characters who will be the ones chasing after him are going to be part of the government as security or military personnel. They will all be wearing dark clothing either brown, black, dark green, or dark blue to also blend in with their surroundings. Their pants will match these colors and be long. They will have black socks and black boots on to mimic an actual security team such as the national guard. They can also be wearing masks such as gas masks or normal masks in case there is an explosion, or there are cameras so they can keep their identities concealed.  These guards will also have Walkie- Talkies to be able to communicate with each other and to try and disrupt the frequency/frequencies that the main character may be using. There will be sound effects of helicopters and automobiles, but none of these will be shown as it cost a lot of money and can be dangerous when they are going fast through the trees. This is all the equipment I will need to bring myself from my house that will be shown in the scene on top of the cameras and camera I will be filming on. If anything changes and I need to bring more, I will write it down on another post and make sure to add it.
